The Butterfly Within

A faded silhouette;
delicate and tantalizing.
Butterflies are beautiful and illusive
But transient and short-lived

Born of one who's being contradicts
An earth bound,
lumbering creature
who, forced to defend
creates a monstrous form -
yet one from whom
this beauty is created.

Proof, if proof were needed -
That beauty comes from within us
Beauty is not just a face
