cathedrals of Saturday night worship
doorways sport bouncers
"Gods doormen"
men in black
'ear-pieces' in
connected to a higher force
doors open only to those who believe
...women in short skirts
balancing on high heals
hair and makeup done for the occasion - 'mobiles' in hand
try to get past the bouncers discerning eye
Lads line-up to try their hand
to be at one with their doorman
to be allowed to worship their gods
by the bottle
by the pint
to find a mate
to find a like minded soul
a spiritual bond - or just a one night stand
and maybe get lucky!
with the pouring rain
the congregation still pours into the city
as the afternoon becomes early evening
the work on creating
"that bloody brilliant night"
...intensifies!
