Perhaps It Will Snow

I just rang to say I can't talk right now. The breaklights in front of me too loud!
On reflection I heed their warning and keep my distance!

I am unique
life won't change me
I like criticism - but don't disapprove!
Every life-time takes a moment.
I haven't lived long enough to write about it yet.

Three robins argue on the trunk of a fallen tree
it's fruit not having fallen far.
A murder of crows sit and discuss beneath a rainbow
whether it's too cold to snow.
The winter sun reveils so much,
like the few remaining autumn leaves
and just how cold it is.
Perhaps it will snow!

The Lips That I Kiss

The lips that I kiss once sipped wine.
The shape of them once expressed pain.
The hands that I hold make sick people well
a calling impossible to feign

The lilt of the voice that said "I do"
the support that that voice gives to me
the comfort in life felt by having her near
...is all that
   ...I need life
      ...to be

Boxing day

Boxing day -
A slobby day - 'a day to slob'.
Boxing day -
A day to eat crisps for breakfast.
Boxing day -
A day to eat up the food left from the day before,
peal a few potates to pad it out it'll be fine!
Boxing day -
A day to be buried amongst unwanted wrapping paper and boxes.
Boxing day -
A day to watch rubbish on the telly.
Boxing day -
A day to not know what day it is.
Boxing day -
A day to do nothing with those you love.

Cadhay Lane

Early morning.
A lazy mist hangs in the air,
lost; without direction,
caught up in spider's webs.
water droplets split the sunlight into tiny rainbows.

The river babbles.
Steam rises from damp hedgerows into an azure blue sky
disappearing into a blinding late November sun - a sun which doesn't hide the chill
but which makes you feel alive!
