Some days I can't see
the sun through the thick black cloak
which envelopes me

From Now To The End Of Your Days

We went to the sea to see pirates
and stood on the cliffs by the shore.
Through our spy-glass we spied,
coming in with tide,
a ship; two or three, maybe more!

Pirates have fierce reputations,
should we go to the harbour and look?
He might march us aboard,
If we can't strike a chord,
and then threaten us both with his hook!

Tied up in the harbours safe shelter,
the pirate ships tied side by side.
We saw through our spy-glass,
the captain looked high class,
so we asked if we might have a ride!

The captain was jolly, not fierce,
he chuckled and said with a grin.
If I take you with me,
to the vast open sea,
you mightn't come back here agin!

If you happen upon pirates whist walking,
and even if nice in their ways.
In your desire to be free,
a pirate you might be,
from now to the end of your days!

Trees; like huge gnarled
creatures, march towards me through
early morning mist

(Haiku)

Sleep? I can do that
with my eyes closed! (I can do
it with them open!)
