Slowly the river Thames passes.
'Neath the many arches of the ancient town bridge,
the weekend captains in boats and barges pass in front of us.
Ducks, Swans, Kingfishers and Grebe's pass in between,
bobbing for meal.
Customers on the steps of the "Boat Inn" wave at the boats which pass.
"No Mouring" the sign says,
no mouring means no passing trade.
Diners pass conversation as food and drink pass their lips
and we all pass the time
