(Haiku)

Sundays like clockwork.
The same people, same actions
all at the same time.

So I Could Give That Love To Thee

The games we played; carefree.
Toast and marmalade for tea.
'Banana Splits' show on TV.
You were always there for me.

My heart would know that you would be
my doctor; teacher; devotee.
Able to fix a poorly knee
a kiss; it's better; 1-2-3.

Soft and warm and feathery
tucked in bed she read to me.
Setting sail across nights sea
and in the morning there you'd be.

You a creative 'bel espirt'
Saturday 'ficks' at the A-B-C.
Fed and safe; secure but free.
Prepared for life as I should be.

Firm with love passed on to me
A loving home and you 'queen-bee'.
When time for bed was your decree,
complaints addressed with repartee!

Sparkle bright my Christmas tree.
An angel staring down at me
None more lovelier than she,
(except the food which I could see!)

Natures hand can sometimes be,
a cruel hand; which it dealt to me.
It came to set your sweet soul free
and you set your sail across the sea.

                       --------o0o---------

When my children come to me,
to ask what type of person she
I gave them all a guarantee
that her love is deep in me
and that she gave that love for free
so I could give that love to thee

The Little Bungalow

Loved; no doubt
the bins went out
the garden; tended
neighbours; friended

...the little place was home!

Schools attended
knowledge extended
homework praised
the children raised

...preparing for the world!

Grown; they left
the place bereft
all over-grown
and all alone

...things did not look good!

Then came the day
she passed away
her soul departs
the ending starts

...the rot begins to take hold!

Buyers amassed
not for the past!
Housing! A must
a profit was just

...all that they could see!

Sold; left waiting
it's future; debating
dark clouds ahead
feeling the dread

...will they knock it down?

Once decorated
plastered; slated
kitchen; modern
now downtrodden

...in a skip outside!

Empty; and sad
sold to a cad!
What lays in store
and what future for?

...the little bungalow!

Magical

It doesn't matter how old they are,
seeing your kids open presents at Christmas time is nothing less than,
...magical!

Christmas Day Earlies In A Petrol Station Ain't Fun

At 6.14am I started to get bored,
and we'd only opened 14 minutes earlier!
At 6.15am I was still bored.
6.16am came and went.
6.17am was very dull and 6.18am and 6.19am much the same!

By 6.20am I was properly bored and I started to bang my head against the wall.
This seemed to help little as I found the stars which the activity created mildly amusing!
By 7.03am the stars had gone and the raindrops running down the window started to look unseemly interesting,
far, far more interesting than they normally would be.
By 8.30am I had to have an egg sandwich to stop myself chewing off my left arm through the boredom.
By 9.08am I was so bored I started to do jobs!
I know, amazing hey!

Luckily I did have one or two customers!
I did forget what to do when the first man walked in an hour and a half after we'd opened though!
It came back to me without the need of anymore head banging and I was able to function almost normally!

The end was almost in sight!
(No I don't mean my boredom got so bad I started to fold myself in half to look at my bottom),
I mean that the end of my shift time loomed.
The fight between time and boredom started to balanced up.
The phone call from the man who just said,
"Hello, hello, hello!" then hung up helped.
I could see the end - of the shift that is!
